Lacey smiled to herself. Bindi was a great rider, and buttersotch was great, but this was a show and she still wanted to win.

She patted her mare's creamy palomino neck into the large sized arena. The mare tossed her head but pricked her ears curious on what was going on. Bindi kicked her lightly and the Welsh mare snapped back to buisness obeying her owner's command to trot. Bindi kept fair balance, keeping the reigns nice and loose to allow her mare to walk on her free will. Afterwards she asked for a canter, and she canterd around the corner of the arena until she was in the middle. Then she trotted sideways for a few minutes and after she was down she walked her Welsh into the practice barn.

Lacey clapped for her, then waited for her name to be called. She was excited to take her vetran stallions Gally into the ring.

Lacey trotted Gally into the center of the ring, and halted.
Gally stoped dead, with all four hooves alined. he held his head tucked in perfectly. Lacey nodded to the judges and put on invisible aids, telling Gally what to do.
They trotted down the diaganal, where the yeilded down across the diagonal. She changed diagonal, and moved to extended trot. They extended down the long side, collected down the short side, then moved to a canter. They cantered a 20 metre circle. Then slowed straight to a walk. She walked down the long side perfectly. Then they moved stright into collected canter. She extendely cantered around the ring once, then she returened to a nice working trot. She nodded to the judges again, taking of her hat and bowing, then trotted a working trot out of the ring.

Bindi awaited the last riders to go and awaited the results. She patted her Welsh's sleeck neck and smiled brightly

Lacey dismounted gally. Walked him into the stable. She slipped on his halter, and tied him up. Grabbing Beuty, and putting on her tack. She led them both into the ring. She mounted Gally and her mother sarah who was visiting for a while, held Beuty. They let them have a quick drink, then waited the result.

Bindi dismounted her Palomino mare's slender body and grabbed the reigns of her leather bridle. The reings were slick but they were soft and easy to hold on too

Kylie sat in the stands awaiting the results. All of the riders had looked good. She wondered what the judges were thinking.

Bethan walked into the warming up ring on Prince. She checked her watch and breathed a breath of relief, she was in time. She walked Prince around, then trotted. She began to do some lateral work to get him supple and then changed his bridle to a double and wrapped his legs in clean white bandages, standing back to inspect her work. She smiled, the white bandages made his jet black legs look even more elegant and the contrast was perfect. She changed to her dressage saddle and got on. She wasn't too nervous, she had been through it all before. Prince chomped on his bit as she watched. Getting the message Bethan began to trot around. She sat deep in the saddle and asked him to shorten his pace, then lengthen it, Prince responded instantly to her almost invisible aids. She smiled and began to canter, doing figure eights. Prince changed his leg neatly when she asked, swishing his tail slightly and begining to foam at the mouth. Bethan pushed him to the outer path of the arenaand asked for counter canter, Prince accepting willingly. It was almost her turn ao she slowed to a trot, then a walk, then she watched the young competitor.

Bracken looked nervously around her. So many spectators, so many competitors better than her. The judges, towering over her, so far away yet so close and...scary. She brought Cali-Beam's reins over his docile head and led him to the practice ring, where she waited for the current user to finish. She then took Cali-Beam into the ring, pulling the reins back over her horse's ears, then brought the mounting block leaning against the fence to his side. She stepped onto the block, slipping her foot into the stirrup, and swung herself into the saddle. Cali-Beam shuffled beneath her, ready to set off. "Want me to move this?" A familiar voice asked. Holding her breath; not daring to believe it, she turned her head slightly and looked below her, then released her breath in a great, shaky sigh of joy. "Pa!" She whispered, a smile teasing her lips and transforming into a huge grin which spread across her face. "What are you doing here?" "Well, I guessed you'd be in this show; Cali-Beam's an excellent competitor, so I thought I'd drop by and find out! Looks like I was right! Oh, and I brought my stuff...Thought I'd stay for a few nights. Have you missed me?" He grinned. "Nah, stupid question. Of course you have!" They laughed together; for the first time in almost two weeks, they were laughing together. He was here, in person-her father. "Go on then, Bracken. Go out there and do me proud. Not to mention that handsome horse you're riding."
Bracken had finished practicing. She was now awaiting her turn in the ring. For real. The competitor before her rode her horse beautifully, making all the correct movements, including the incredible flying-change that Bracken and Cali-Beam had just mastered to perfection. "Contestant Number 35, Bracken Midsomer riding Cali-Beam!" The judges called. Bracken knew what she was expected to do, as an intermediate rider. She knew the movements she must make and the way she must ride, but, as though a fog had swept her brain in a fraction of a second, she had forgotten how. Yes, she had done shows before, but with horsey people she knew. "Coem on, Cali," she muttered to her stallion. "Go for it." Confidently, Cali-Beam strodeinto the ring, looking around him as if to say, 'Yes, I'm here. It's me, indeed. The great, the legendary, Cali-Beam!' Bracken nudged his ribs gently and walked him a little faster into the centre of the ring, saluted at the judges and sent Cali-Beam into a collected trot around the outside of the ring. She added in a confident pirouette to the routine and then pressed Cali-Beam a little harder so he made his collected trot extended, then sent him into a collected canter, steady and bouncy. They then completed, successfully, a flying change of leg. Bracken cheered to herself secretly inside. ;D After this, she slowed Cali-Beam down into a collected walk, part of a walk, halt, trot transition, and then made an unnecessary but appreciated turn on the forehead by the outer fence near B marker. Bracken took Cali-Beam into the centre of the ring after this, once again saluted to the judges in halt, and trotted Cali-Beam in a parade once around the ring, now extremely nervous in wait for the results.

Natalie sat up straight when she heard her named called. " C'mon let's do this" She whispered. Her white thoroughbred tossed her head in argreement. She walked to the center of the arena Moon pionted her toes and extended her legs fulling. Natalie nodded and gave the judges a salute. Moon imeditly picked up a working trot. Her back was arch neatly, and her white head was tucked in. She listene to the invisble signle Natalie gave her to cut a diagnol. They fiuldly switched t so they were now doing a gentle collected canter. Moon kept her head neat, back arched and all 4 legs under her. They contiued on before smottly stopping backing up exactly 4 steps. Moon squared up before moving into a free walk, which at piont X came to a halt. Natalie saluted the judges, before exiting
