Sky's Aunt Allison drove around attempting to find the house that might be the new home to Sky and Allison. Both needed a new home away from the place that turned their lives up-side down. The death of both Sky's parents mixed with Allison's recent divorce had forced the two to seek a fresh start somewhere far away. Chesnut Hill had sounded perfect, pretty, secluded, and had so many farms, it was perfect for them both. Allison kept driving along humming to the radio in a downcast manner dark enough to match the stormy weather, but Sky was lost in Dreamland, eyes looking but not registering the countryside whzzing past. Sky was thinking about Chesnut Hill, the new house, the stables they were going to check out later, and her horses. She had seven back home- Remi, Phir, Ben, Ivory, Rebel, her new off the range wild spanish mustang she had bought from the BLM with the money she got from selling her bay morgan Serenade, Pirate, and Poisenne. I miss them so much already, but they will be here soon, at least as soon as I can decide on a stable good enough for them. Then a big bump interupted her thoughts, and her eyes flew to the scene in front of her; a long dirt driveway with tress, big and lush, stretching all the way down both sides of the driveway. Bump. Bump. Rattle. Bump. Then the driveway came into a paved area big enough to fit two large parked cars, and next to it, an old-fashioned cottage with small birch trees lining the walkway up to the brick stairs and the old wooden door. Allison parked next to what Sky assumed was the owner's car, and they both un-buckled their seat belts and stepped out of the car in thoughtful silence. They walked up to the door and Allison rang the door bell, and a frail elderly lady answered the door. "Ooh, you two must be the Davis', how very nice to meet you, come in, come in." Sky, anxious to see what the cottage looked like, stepped through the threshold first, giving the old lady a small smile and a "Thank you." Allison did the same, and the ols lady brought them into a small combined kitchen, dining room, and living room. The old lady talked to Allison about the cottage, it's features, and the price, all the while giving them a tour. At the end of the kitchen/dning room/living room were three doors, one on the far left of the back wall, one in the middle of the back wall, and one on the far right of the back wall. The one on the left was one of the bedrooms, a small but cozy master bedroom, with simple interior designs. The middle door was the bathroom, and the right door was a bedroom smaller than the master, but with a slider to the small yard outside, and big windows showing the well kempt yard and the surrounding forest. Oh my god, I think I actually really like this place, especially this little room. Auntie Allison seems to like it too, I think I'm gonna go talk to her. "Hey Auntie, can I talk to you?" "Of course Sky, hold on." Allison pulled herself away from the old lady and walked over to where sky was standing across the room. "Auntie, I actually really like this place. I really think this is a good place to start, but I don't know much about it, so what do you think?" "Oh I hoped you would feel the same way," Allison whispered. "I agree I really like this place, and it's very cheap for an old-fashioned cottage like this. I love it, do you want to live here, or do you want to keep looking? We have been looking for awhile, and I do think it's high time to decide, so I think, since we're the only ones who have looked at this place, and the lady is very ready to sell it... well..." "I seriously do think this is the place for us. Oh Auntie, this is awesome! Does this mean we can go see the stables when you're done?!" Inside I was bubbling. We hadn't had a real place to live since Auntie had to sell the house to pay for hospital and divorce bills. And, now we could go see that stable! My head was swimming for the next fifteen minutes while Aunt Allison made a date to seal the deal with the lady. When Auntie was done, we both got in the car and started off to look at Chesnut Hill Stable.
