MOVIE REVIEW BY BLUEDUN:
#3-----
Movie: Speed Racer (The new one)
Actors: Emile Hirsch, John Goodman, Susan Sarandon, Matthew Fox, Scott Porter, Roger Allam, Rain
-----
Speed Racer (Emile Hirsch) is an 18-year-old whose life and love has always been racing. Racing is "in his blood": his parents, Pops (John Goodman) and Mom (Susan Sarandon), run an independent business building race cars, and his brother, record-setting racer Rex Racer (Scott Porter), was killed in Speed's childhood in the running of the Casa Cristo, an incredibly intense cross-country race. Now, Speed Racer is sweeping the racing world with his skill, driving the Mach 5. When Mr. Royalton (Roger Allam), owner of Royalton Industries, offers Speed a "Once in a lifetime" opportunity to race for him, Speed is tempted but declines, knowing that his parents would never wish Speed to sign with the power-hungry corporation. When Speed refuses Mr. Royaltons offer, Royalton reveals that top corporations, including Royalton, are fixing races and cheating, and then threatens Speeds very life when he still does not sign. When Royalton later proves ready to make his threats reality, Speed teams up with his one-time rival, Racer X (Matthew Fox), and shifty Japanese racer Taejo Togokhan (Rain) to enter the Casa Cristo in part of a plot to uncover the treacheries of Royalton and save the Racer business. As Speed overcomes many seemingly-unsurpassable obstacles to win the Casa Cristo and finally the Grand Prix, he gradually exposes Royalton's corruption. (Furthermore, a surprise is in store for viewers.)

Oh Dude. AWESOME movie. The racing scenes left my heart thumping and my adrenaline soaring for the whole night after we watched it. We watched it again the morning after just for the races. (Ironically, I have also started considering red socks lucky. You'd understand if you watched the movie.)
