Val gently lead Yasmine back to her stall. She carefully eased off the saddle and bridle as not to cause Yasmine anymore pain as the two gashes on her cheek and muzzle were. Then Val quickly filled a bowl of warm water and grabbed a soft peice of cloth and began to daub to wounds. They were ugly red streaks across her face and they looked very red and sore. Yasmine was already blind in one eye and partially in the other, the last thing Val wanted was for her to distrust humans. She began to cry as she cleaned the wounds, angry tears that stained her pale face. For nearly an hour Val just stood there, softly rubbing the mare's face with her long slender fingers. She began at the ears and worked downwards before coming back up again once she had reached Yasmine's lips. Then she would gather up the cloth and daub the gashes with the water before repeating the process again and again. Val desperately whished she could apologise, that for one short moment of her life she could miraculously tell her horse that she was sorry. Then the sun began to set and Val gave her a quick brush over before emptying the water into the drain, saying goodbye and leaving.
