Rover tacked up his sister's mare and rode her out to the trails. "Ok, Sugar easy now girl." Sugar chomped at the bit and began to pull on the reins. "Sugar..." Rover said in a comanding voice "Quit pulling." Sugar settled down a bit as they walked toward the open trails. Rover found a really pretty trail to go down. "I wonder what's down this trail." Rover turned the mare down the narrow tree lined path. Rover took a deep breath and looked at the beautiful trees and summer flowers. It began to sprinkle the rain but because the two were under the trees they didn't feel the rain, they only heard it. Sugar's hooves made soft beats against the dry ground as she walked along. "It's a good thing it's raining now because the earth really needed it." Sugar's head popped up and her ears started to flick around. "Easy girl" Rover soothed. Sugar then began to crow hop up and down. "Whoa Sugar, easy girl." Rover said calmly as he reined her into a small circle around a tree. Rover soon found what was making her nervous, a small bunny hopped out onto the trail. Rover laughed "Oh Sugar, It's only a little bunny rabbit you silly mare." Sugar calmed back down after she saw that it was only a bunny and not a monster. Then they came upon a small creek which Sugar crossed without fuss. Soon it had stopped raining as the two went around rocks and trees, up and down hills, and across water. The two were relaxed and happy and Rover began to wonder if he really wanted to sell Sugar, oh sure she could be difficult but maybe she wasn't so bad.
