Lottie walked her bay mare down the track. She felt bored and lonely.
Lottie had just moved into her new house in the middle of the summer, she didn’t know anybody, she was just finding her way around. Everyone else seemed to have his or her friends and there ponies, she felt like the left one out.
“Its just not fair.” She told herself. “Everybody has their friends, I’m the odd one out.
She looked down the woody track. “Cheer up.” She thought to herself, “Iv still got Holly.”
Holly was her thoroughbred mare, her prize possession.
Holly yanked at the Dutch gag that was in her mouth.
“No, we aren’t cantering yet girl!” Lottie said, sitting deep in the saddle and holding the mare back.
The mare gave a buck; she didn’t like being bossed around. Holly always wanted to go, but Lottie always insisted not to rush things. This bored Holly. She just wanted to get out there and go!
Lotties green eyes gleamed in the sun. She had a pretty face with straight brown hair, which she tied back in a bun. She had long legs and was a very pretty young girl. She was about 14.
