Rover led a very pregnant Sugar out to the foaling pasture, She waddled as she followed Rover to the pasture. Rover led her to a soft spot in the grass and left her there. A few hours later he came back to see how Sugar was doing and to see if he might have to call the vet. Rover was relived to see that Sugar did not look like she was in distress. When he walked toward Sugar he saw a tiny figure laying next to her. He was careful not to spook Sugar as he got closer to see what the baby looked like. He saw that it looked like it was dark grey but it also looked wet still. Rover knew the color would look different when the baby dried off. At first Sugar seemed unhappy that Rover was trying to get close but then she calmed down after she saw it was only Rover and not someone else. Rover finally got to the foal and mother and gently layed the foal down in his arms, right next to Sugar so she wouldn't think he was taking her baby, and then began to imprint the foal by handling it's legs, mouth, head, ears, nose, hooves, body, and tail so that the foal would forever remember that humans can handle these spots and the foal won't think it's bad. Then Rover checked the gender of the foal and found that it was a filly, he also found that as the filly dried she turned a light fleabitten gray and her tail was a slightly darker color. Rover led the two gently back to Sugar's stall.
